Hong Kong IPO fundraising more than doubles to HK$388b in 2026
Hong Kong’s average daily stock market turnover rose to HK$272.9 billion from January to September, up 6.4% year on year.
Funds raised through initial public offerings in Hong Kong more than doubled year on year to over HK$388 billion, or US$49.4 billion, in the first nine months of 2026, surpassing the full total for last year, Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po said, according to SCMP Economy.
Chan said more than 30 portfolio firms of the government-owned Hong Kong Investment Corporation were preparing to apply for listings in Hong Kong this year, adding to the outlook for IPO activity.
The financial secretary also reported that average daily turnover on Hong Kong’s stock market from January to September was HK$272.9 billion, reflecting 6.4% year-on-year growth.
Chan pointed to rising long-term US bond yields, saying they reached a 24-year high and have heightened investor concerns about global economic prospects, weighing on Hong Kong stock sentiment, SCMP Economy reported.
