Dollar extends gains as US yields rise and Europe fiscal worries persist

The US Dollar Index (DXY) revisited 102.5 for the first time since April 2025 amid higher Treasury yields, while EUR/USD marked a fifth straight week of losses.

The US dollar strengthened further on Monday, with persistent safe-haven demand lifting the greenback and leaving Europe’s fiscal concerns weighing on broader risk sentiment, according to FXStreet.

The US Dollar Index extended higher, revisiting the 102.50 region for the first time since April 2025 as US Treasury yields pushed up across the curve.

In currency trading, EUR/USD started its fifth consecutive week of losses, pressured by a steady bullish dollar move and renewed fiscal jitters in the euro area, while GBP/USD fell back below 1.3200.

FXStreet also pointed to an upcoming slate of data and central bank remarks, including an ADP employment release, US balance of trade results, and Fed speakers Williams and Bowman, alongside ECB speeches and European economic reports.
