Bitcoin dips below $81,000 as oil rises on Iran strike worries
BTC/USD fell to about $81,000 on Bitstamp, its lowest since Sept. 21, while WTI crude rose to $93.2 a barrel and Brent to $105.9.
Bitcoin fell to below $81,000, edging toward a key support level at $82,500 after the Wall Street open, according to Cointelegraph.
The crypto selloff was tied to rising oil prices on renewed concerns about possible US and Iran military action, Cointelegraph said.
Citing reporting from NBC News, Cointelegraph noted the US could be preparing for fresh military strikes on Iran, with the move lifting WTI crude to $93.2 a barrel, its highest since Oct. 2, and pushing Brent to $105.9.
Cointelegraph also said TradingView data showed BTC/USD dropping to around $81,000 on Bitstamp, the lowest level since Sept. 21.
