Congressional panel flags surveillance risk tied to Webull

Shares of Webull parent Robinhood fell 18% after a congressional committee said the platform’s China ties could expose customer data to Chinese surveillance.

A congressional committee raised national security concerns about trading platform Webull, saying it is not the ordinary U.S. company it portrays itself to be.

According to CNBC Markets, the panel warned that Webull’s China ties create a risk that customer data could be exposed to Chinese surveillance.

CNBC World reported that the concerns contributed to a sharp stock drop, with shares falling 18%.
