Former researcher says China has spies inside US AI firms

Jacob Coxon, a former Anthropic and OpenAI researcher, said he was 90.0% certain of the claim, describing China as able to hack at any time.

A former Anthropic and OpenAI researcher, Jacob Coxon, said he was 90.0% certain that China already has spies inside both US artificial intelligence companies, OpenAI and Anthropic, without providing evidence, according to SCMP Economy.

Coxon made the allegation during an interview with entrepreneur Patrick Bet-David on the PBD Podcast.

He argued that China could steal advances from leading US AI labs and quickly close any technological gap, saying that even if the US pulls ahead, China could step in to catch up.

Coxon also said China has the ability to hack at any time, in the context of his claims about foreign access to AI research.
