Middleburg Communities signs lease for new headquarters in Tysons

The multifamily owner and developer took 27,800 square feet at Lerner Enterprises 1800 Tysons Blvd.

Middleburg Communities is moving its headquarters from Vienna to a new office in Tysons, about a mile away, Bisnow reports. The multifamily owner and developer signed for 27,800 square feet at Lerner Enterprises 1800 Tysons Blvd. in the Tysons II master-planned development, according to the outlet.

Bisnow reports that the lease was revealed in Cushman & Wakefield’s third-quarter report, and Middleburg confirmed the deal to Bisnow. Middleburg said the Tysons location will make it easier for its people to get to work and support the culture it wants to build, Chris Finlay, the company’s founder and CEO, said in an emailed statement shared by the outlet.

Middleburg, which has delivered more than 32,000 units across nine states, has operated out of its headquarters at Fortress Investment Group’s 1921 Gallows Road in Vienna, Bisnow reports. The outlet adds that Middleburg did not disclose how much space it will have at the new location or when it plans to move.

Bisnow also notes that the new headquarters at 1800 Tysons is in a building that houses firms including JLL, UWS, Houlihan Lokey, Littler, and Founding Farmers. The outlet says Middleburg is also working on a 260-unit apartment project in Fairfax with Capital City Real Estate.
