Bitcoin rises above $64,000 as $65,000 resistance nears

BTC climbed above $64,000, about $400 from its new three-week highs, while weaker WTI crude after US-Iran peace momentum and a falling US dollar supported crypto gains.

Bitcoin moved back above $64,000 on Friday, putting it roughly $400 from new three-week highs, as price strength approached the next major level near $65,000, Cointelegraph reported. The outlet linked the move to a softer macro backdrop, citing US-Iran peace momentum that kept US WTI crude oil lower after it rejected from about $76 per barrel. Cointelegraph also pointed to a US dollar that weakened for a third straight day, with the US dollar index approaching its lowest levels since mid-June. Cointelegraph added that QCP Capital said risks to economies were still rising amid limited monetary support, highlighting the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve. The firm also said recent developments tied to Iran instability have spread beyond traditional markets, referencing BTC sales by Strategy and stressing that private credit redemption requests have exceeded 5% quarterly gates across several funds. Separately, Cointelegraph cited The Kobeissi Letter for a more optimistic inflation view, saying the odds of US inflation staying above 4.5% in 2026 fell below 20% based on Polymarket and an earlier higher estimate. Crypto trader Michaël van de Poppe also referenced the oil-price trend as a potential driver for broader market upside.
