Bitcoin holds above $65,000 as Alphabet signals higher AI spending
U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in nearly $1 billion across seven straight trading days, as Alphabet lifted its 2026 capital spending forecast to $195 billion to $205 billion.
Bitcoin was trading around $65,680 after topping $66,000 for the first time since mid-June, according to CoinDesk data.
CoinDesk said the market stayed relatively quiet during Alphabet’s earnings release but took cues from the company’s outlook for AI spending. Alphabet reported revenue of $119.8 billion, up 24%, with cloud growing 82%, and it raised its 2026 capital spending forecast again to $195 billion to $205 billion from $180 billion to $190 billion, citing a supply-constrained scramble to meet AI demand.
CoinDesk linked the upbeat AI infrastructure read to strength in the broader chip complex and noted that Alphabet’s stock fell after hours as investors weighed the higher spend against slimmer free cash flow.
CoinDesk also reported that U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted nearly $1 billion in investor inflows over seven straight trading days, with almost $500 million added in the most recent week, the best performance since early May. Ether was near $1,916, XRP around $1.13, and Solana about $77, while Hyperliquid was the outlier, down 11% on the week.
