Spot Bitcoin ETFs see $172.4M July inflows after late-month selling

July flipped from two months of outflows, but the funds still sit about $5.3B negative year to date after outsized withdrawals in May and June.

US-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds finished July with net inflows of $172.4 million, data cited from SoSoValue show, even as a late-month wave of selling drove volatility in Bitcoin.

The inflow for the month came despite a $265.4 million net outflow on Friday, the funds' largest daily withdrawal since July 13. Flows also turned positive after nearly $7 billion in combined outflows over the prior two months, including a $4.5 billion monthly outflow in June, according to the same data.

Year to date, spot Bitcoin ETFs remained around $5.3 billion in net outflows. The products posted positive net inflows in only March, April, and July, for a combined $3.46 billion, while outflows in January, February, May, and June totaled about $8.75 billion.

Despite July's improvement, weekly flows turned negative at the end of the month, with Bitcoin ETFs recording a $61.53 million outflow for the week ending July 31. Total net assets stood at $76.29 billion at the end of July, and the funds have attracted $51.32 billion in cumulative net inflows since launch, according to SoSoValue.
