HistoryMaker Homes rolls out AI using a phased adoption strategy
The Dallas-Fort Worth homebuilder is working with vendors like Higharc and is planning 60 new floor plans over 18 months as it pivots from price-led competition.
HousingWire reports that HistoryMaker Homes is adopting AI-enabled operations in phases as regional homebuilders face pressure from larger public competitors with more scale and resources.
The company says it is partnering with vendors such as Higharc to accelerate design work and improve the customer experience, and it is describing its approach as a crawl-walk-run strategy for implementation.
In comments shared at HousingWire’s AI Summit in Dallas, CEO Zac Thompson said the firm does not have millions of dollars to build out every AI initiative at once, so it is moving through an initial setup phase and toward a later “walk” stage.
HousingWire also notes the company’s broader pivot in response to rising capital costs and intensified competition, including a shift away from competing primarily on low price and toward customer value.
