Bitcoin nears $80,000 as Treasury buyback plans lift crypto
Bitcoin was trading near the $80,000 level last seen in May, after a surge tied to Treasury Department plans to buy back longer dated Treasurys.
Bitcoin rose Monday toward the $80,000 level it last touched in May, extending its recent outperformance versus stocks and gold, according to MarketWatch.
The move came after the cryptocurrency surged last week on expectations linked to Treasury Department plans to buy back longer dated Treasurys, MarketWatch said.
