China vows to build 6G, robotics and other hi-tech industries by 2030
The Industry and Information Technology ministry said 6G is a top priority, including faster core research, trials, and standards ahead of commercial rollouts.
China has pledged to develop emerging hi-tech industries, including 6G communications and robotics, into new drivers of economic growth by the end of the decade, according to SCMP Economy.
At a press conference hosted by the State Council Information Office, industry officials said the plan is aimed at strengthening “new quality productive forces,” linking technological and industrial innovation to high-quality development.
SCMP Economy reported that the ministry’s next-generation 6G push will prioritize core technology research, technology trials, and the development of industry standards to prepare for eventual commercial rollouts.
The comments arrive as Beijing seeks to sustain growth through technological self-reliance and industrial upgrading amid mounting economic challenges, the outlet said.
