Bitcoin holds $76,000 to $80,000 as oil rallies and yields climb

BTC stayed rangebound even as WTI futures topped $90 and the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield rose to 4.81%, a level not seen since 2023.

Bitcoin is trading choppily but has held its range between $76,000 and $80,000 despite surging energy prices, rising government bond yields, and declines in stocks and gold, according to CoinDesk. The outlet pointed to U.S. bond-market stress linked to fiscal concerns, saying the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield jumped 10 basis points to 4.81%, its highest level since 2023. CoinDesk also cited oil and inflation risk, noting that WTI-linked futures topped $90 and were up nearly 9% for the week as of the time of writing, while the stronger macro backdrop has kept markets jittery. While the report said bitcoin’s relative resilience may reflect demand for assets outside the fiat system, it flagged potential headwinds from the U.S. Dollar Index, which it said was near 99.67 and looking to extend its nearly 1% gain.
