ISO New England hires Erland Construction for Holyoke office expansion

The 78,500-square-foot, all-electric, LEED-certified building is intended to ease ISO New England’s current office capacity constraints and improve campus security.

Erland Construction has been selected by ISO New England to build a new 78,500-square-foot office building on the grid operator’s Holyoke, Massachusetts campus, according to ConnectCRE.

The project will add office space to support ISO New England’s growing workforce, while also helping the organization carry out its role in ensuring the reliable operation of the New England bulk electric power system and administering the region’s wholesale electricity markets.

ConnectCRE reports the all-electric, LEED-certified building will be used in part for training and visitor meetings.

ISO New England said the new facility is meant to address existing office capacity constraints and improve campus security, and quoted Anne George, the organization’s VP and chief external affairs and communications officer, as saying the expansion will strengthen its ability to serve the region as its work grows more complex.
