Hollywood River Studios breaks ground on 110-acre campus in Illinois
The 110-acre project will add six soundstages totaling 144,000 square feet and aims to support more than 1,000 permanent jobs.
Bisnow reports Hollywood River Studios broke ground Monday on a 110-acre studio campus in Wood River, Illinois, with Gov. JB Pritzker in attendance.
The campus is planned to include six soundstages totaling 144,000 square feet, plus production offices, warehousing, more than 1,000 parking spaces, and a planned esports arena.
The project also includes a second site, a 55,000 square foot facility in nearby Granite City, described as a production base camp.
Hollywood River Studios projects the campus could support more than 1,000 permanent jobs, with individual productions employing 300 to 500 people each.
