Privacy coins Zcash and Monero lead as Bitcoin and Ethereum lag

Zcash is up about 3% over the past 24 hours, while Monero is up 2.1%, as broader crypto prices were essentially flat.

Bitcoin traded at $86,264.06, up 0.6% over the past 24 hours, while Ethereum was at $2,714.39, up 0.3%, as the largest portion of the market showed little movement, according to Decrypt citing CoinGecko data.

The overall crypto market value was just above $3 trillion and essentially flat for the day, with other large coins drifting modestly, including Solana up 1.4% and XRP up 1.1%, while BNB fell 0.4% and Tron declined 0.2%.

Zcash stood out among the largest coins, rising about 3% over the last year and gaining roughly 3% on the day as it recovered from a pullback near $1,600, Decrypt reported.

Monero was also a standout, up 2.1% over the past 24 hours to $562.32, with Decrypt attributing the subdued broader tape to shifting macro conditions following the Fed rate hike and the weak September jobs report.
