Index funds barely move as the tape holds its breath
Broad market funds stay close to flat while bond and gold proxies wobble.
The big U.S. equity funds are quiet. SPY rises 0.0%, VTI adds 0.0%, and VFIAX and FXAIX each slip 0.0%. QQQ gains 0.1%, while DIA falls 0.2% and IWM drops 0.1%.
International exposure is softer. EFA falls 0.5%, while the broad U.S. bond fund VBTLX loses 0.1%. TLT is down 0.2%, keeping the long-duration side of the market under pressure.
Gold exposure is still strong but gives back some ground. GLD falls 1.6% even after a 14.1% one-month gain, and it remains above both its 50-day and 200-day averages.
The mixed fund tape matches the broader market picture, little drama in the indices, but clearer movement in rates, commodities, and select growth names.
