Luckin Coffee signs 10-year retail lease at 180 Varick St.

Olmstead Properties’ Hudson Square storefront deal covers 1,200 square feet and replaces a pizzeria and deli that had been in place for more than 40 years.

Olmstead Properties has signed Luckin Coffee to a new 10-year retail lease at 180 Varick St. in Manhattan’s Hudson Square, covering 1,200 square feet at the base of the historic office building, according to ConnectCRE.

Luckin Coffee will replace a neighborhood pizzeria and deli that occupied the storefront for more than 40 years before its longtime owner retired.

Steven Marvin of Olmstead Properties represented ownership, and said the company is focused on bringing in amenities as Hudson Square continues to evolve, adding that Luckin has built a strong following by delivering a modern, convenient coffee experience.

ConnectCRE also noted that 180 Varick St. has been owned by the Rosenblatt family since the building was developed in the 1920s, making it Olmstead Properties’ longest-held asset.
