Bitcoin ETF flows turn negative after nine straight inflow days

Friday’s $201.8 million net outflow ended the nine-day inflow streak and pushed total US spot Bitcoin ETF assets down to $97.6 billion.

US-listed spot Bitcoin exchange traded funds ended a nine-day stretch of net inflows after Bitcoin fell below $78,000, Cointelegraph reported. SoSoValue data showed the ETFs posted $201.8 million in net outflows on Friday.

The reversal followed more than $3 billion of net inflows during the nine-session run, while August flows were still positive at $3.3 billion with one US trading session left in the month, according to the report. Total net assets slipped back below $100 billion to $97.6 billion after topping that level on Thursday.

ARK 21Shares led the withdrawal with $114.9 million in net outflows, followed by the Bitwise Bitcoin ETF at $49.7 million, per Farside Investors data cited by Cointelegraph. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) recorded $33.4 million in outflows, while Morgan Stanley’s Bitcoin Trust (MSBT) was the only fund to see inflows, adding $9.3 million.

Cointelegraph also noted that Ether and XRP ETF categories continued to receive net inflows on Friday, adding $102.2 million and $26.2 million respectively, while Solana ETFs maintained positive momentum and reached new milestones. Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas said Solana ETFs attracted $1.7 billion in cumulative flows without a sustained stretch of outflows, and Bitwise’s Solana ETF became the first in the category to cross $1 billion in assets.
