China’s LandSpace achieves first reusable rocket milestone
The private company’s breakthrough could help reduce costs in China’s commercial launch market and increase pressure on SpaceX’s reusable-rocket lead.
China’s private space company LandSpace said it has successfully landed a reusable rocket for the first time, marking a key milestone in efforts to make launch services cheaper.
The New York Times Business reports that the achievement could move China closer to competing in lower-cost spaceflight, a space where SpaceX has built an advantage around reusability.
