Russia posts fuel sales limits in Moscow as drone attacks disrupt refining
Gazprom Neft and Tatneft have warned drivers to expect longer waits at Moscow filling stations due to heightened demand and refinery upkeep.
Russia is introducing new restrictions on fuel sales at Moscow gas stations amid disruption tied to Ukraine drone attacks, according to OilPrice.
Gazprom Neft and Tatneft, through their representatives and customer service lines, confirmed limits on petrol sales at Moscow filling stations, and both companies warned customers to expect longer waiting times for fill-ups as demand increases.
The outlet said Russia’s refining and industrial infrastructure has been a repeated target of long-range drones launched from Ukraine, with Tuesday’s attack wave involving at least 600 drones against the Moscow region and reportedly causing panic and some casualties.
OilPrice added that Russian energy firms attributed delays to unscheduled refinery maintenance, and it also pointed to reports of Ukrainian drones striking an oil refinery and a residential building in Russia’s Bashkortostan region, where regional head Radiy Khabirov confirmed the incident.
